Sports cars with highest resale value (R&T)
Article Here
Sports Cars with the Best Resale Value - Article - RoadandTrack.com
The jag surprised me.
Justin's favorite depreciating asset made the list

2010 Nissan GT-R
Compared to the lithe lines of many sports cars, the 2010 Nissan GT-R looks like a cross between a brick and a bullet train. Then again, Godzilla wasn’t exactly much of a looker either, but that didn’t stop him from becoming a cult classic while munching his way through downtown Tokyo. No wonder this asphalt-chewing Nissan sports car has earned the “Godzilla” moniker.
On sale in the U.S. since 2009, the GT-R has established a long history in Japan, where its reigned as the king of sports cars. The spec sheet is as formidable what’s inside the car’s gaping grille: a 485-bhp twin-turbocharged V-6, all-wheel drive, mammoth disc brakes, 6-speed semi-automatic gearbox and Nissan’s Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC-R) to keep things under, well, control.
The only criticism you can levy at the GT-R is how easy it is to drive the car insanely fast. Buy a GT-R and you’ve made an investment for life.

I think the resale value of the cars featured in this article is more suited for the EU market, from what i know now you can buy a 09 GTR in the 50k range in US...

The JAG?? that POS holds no value...can be had for cheap. Ditto on the GTR too.
R&T is complete BSing this. At least Edmunds long-term drive reviews provide realistic numbers on the resale value.

Very true, Jag resale sucks. Stilol, the king of value drop is still the Maserati...

And Mercedes AMG or a lot of them at least. Mainly because they start at too high of a point. The old CL65 and S65 dropping half value in a year and a half. Ouch.
Also, you can't get a GT-R for 50k here. They are holding up very well. I believe what Justin said about some that have gone for low at auction, but they are holding rock steady on the private market.

I don't believe this list at all. Not even the vettes are holding their value. Case in point. I can buy a 80K Z06 for half its MSRP 4 years later.

Yeah, WTF is the deal with Maserati depreciation. Admittedly, this isn't my area of expertise, but aren't MOST of their internals Ferrari made? How can a 2006 Maserati Gran Sport be $35,000 in great shape? Are they really that sketchy?

Wow, had no idea they were that cheap. Autotrader has a dozen of them less than 45K.

Maserati CEO's are trying to find out why for years and it seems every time they can't figure it out. Yes, the majority of Mas parts are Ferrari, including the engine.
From all known auto brands Ferrari/Maserati is the only one that offers cheaper cars with almost the same parts as the Ferrari. You'll never see a sister car manufacturer from Porsche or Lamborghini that uses their parts and makes cheaper cars. It's something similar with those Mars-like chocolate bars, they have the same content but they aren't Mars.
The only Maserati that didn't depreciated is the MC12.

Are maseratis really that bad? What are the issues with them? Not the hearsay issues, but the real issues? I've always wondered!
Thanks to those with more experience than me!
