Default Murcie wing stuck up...

Hi all,
I read on the forums about how to keep the bat wings up and how to reset them when you want them to go back to computer controled. In order to keep the bat wings up, you put them up and then kill the main power switch to the car. then when you want to reset them you simply hold down the button and turn the car on. simple enough! that all works as advertised...

Now my delema... I live in Pittsburgh PA, I bought the LDAS system to save myself from traveling 300 miles to the closest dealer every time i get a check engine light. I used the laptop LDAS to raise the rear spoiler. I hit the button several times and it kept moving up a few degrees at a time, until it was almost vertical. Then it stopped... I killed the main power to the car so it would stay up and I could clean 6 years worth of dirt from under it. I hooked the LDAS back up and it will not lower it. i hear it click back there, but nothing. it's like i need a button similar to the wings, so i can hold it down and turn the car on...

HELP!!! any ideas?????

Donnie

Have you tried to get a friend to give a little pressure on the wing while commanding it down with the LDAS? Be careful if you do, to make sure it goes down evenly. Make sure all codes are cleared out of all modules too. If there is a code in like the ABS module, it may interfere with the activation. Keep us updated.

Default Wing problem

It sounds like it overextended itself somehow and is out of alignment, but I am no technician. I have forwarded it on to our tech and will post his thoughts shortly.

I'd call Grant Johnson at Lamborghini Newport Beach and see what he suggests. Grant has seen it all and could probably walk you through what to do. I'd not force anything.

Any updates? You may have to take that rear panel off and disassemble the system. I would not recommend it unless you have quite a bit of mechanical experience. Let us know how it turns out.

Default Wing inop

So I got the low down from our tech here. He said that he has seen this before several times and is generally related to the hinges on the wing getting wet and dry repeatedly to the point where it corrodes and binds up. If you had to hit the button more than once to open the wing then it is likely that the hinge was binding from the beginning. Either way, he suggests that you will need to remove the bolts in the hinge and clean them up. This should give the wing the ability to move freely. Once the bolts are back in and cleaned, you should be able to do a reset all on the wing and it will relearn the upper and lower stopping points as determined by the amperage on the motors as they are lifting and lowering the wing.

I know this is a bit of info, but if you have further questions, please feel free to give us a call here at the shop. 303-792-2540. You can ask for me or Todd (tech).

Thanks,

Bill
